Have you been thinking about facilitating a Compass Catholic Bible study but don’t know where to start? The process might be easier than you think! Read through the following steps to learn more about what it takes to lead a study.
Step 1: Pray
The first step to running a Compass Catholic Bible study is to pray! Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your efforts and remain with you through the whole process. Prayer will make the experience more fruitful for you and your small group participants.
Step 2: Choose a Bible Study

Step 3: Complete the Compass Catholic Facilitator Training and register as a Facilitator.
Step 4: Get support from your Parish, organize your own small group, or facilitate for Compass Catholic Ministries.
Parish Led Studies
Be sure to prepare for the meeting with Parish leadership. They will probably ask you questions such as: “How much work will it take to run this?,” “How much will it cost?,” “How many weeks will it last?,” etc.
Having the answer to these questions ahead of time will go a long way. You can also direct them to the links above, which contain information about each of the Compass Catholic studies.
If you need any assistance with this step, you can also contact Compass Catholic by phone or email.
Finally, bring your excitement to the meeting! Be willing to communicate the importance of financial discipleship in your life and the impact Compass Catholic studies have had on your life. We have heard that a few Parishes think that Catholics don’t want to talk about money. By starting this conversation with Parish leadership, you can become a Change Maker!
Organizing Your Own Small Group
Decide on a location to host the study and who you want to invite to join you. Some small groups happen in homes, in quiet meeting areas, or on Zoom. If you need a Zoom room to host online, please contact Compass Catholic and we will give you access to a professional Zoom account.
Facilitate for Compass Catholic Ministries
Compass Catholic hosts online small groups for those who don’t have access to Compass Catholic studies at their own Parish. Please fill out this form if you are interested in facilitating one of these online studies!
Step 5: Invite others to join your small group and set a start date.
Once they give you a resounding “Yes!”, let them know to go to CompassCatholic.org to order their books.
Step 6: Show up and participate with your small group.
As a facilitator, you are a student among students. Compass Catholic studies are intentionally easy to administer so you can enjoy the experience as much as the other small group participants!
Step 7: Watch what happens as others learn how financial discipleship can change their lives!
Compass Catholic Ministries will be hosting a few Online Small Studies this Fall. If you are interested in facilitating those studies, please fill out this form. A member of the Compass Catholic staff will contact you shortly.
